Blix and his wife, April, grew up in Asheville, NC, and earned bachelor’s degrees together at Western Carolina University. After getting married, they moved to Nashville, TN, where Blix earned an MBA in Finance from Vanderbilt University. After a few years in Charlotte, they moved to Upstate South Carolina in 1995. They have four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.

Blix has worked in volunteer ministry throughout his adult life serving as a deacon and elder. In 2025, he concluded a career of over 30 years in health care finance to transition into full-time ministry as Executive Pastor at CBC.

Blix loves learning foreign languages in his free time. He began with French over a decade ago and is currently advancing in Spanish. He has been blessed to minister to others using French in Côte d’Ivoire and Spanish in Guatemala and hopes to do that even more in the future. An avid shade tree mechanic, he also enjoys doing free car repair for those in need through his ministry, Hearts & Miles.
